Mosaics on the Streets

Mosaic_fountain_Johanna_Jabotinsky_Street.jpgIt isn’t frequently when a city owes the praise for its eye-catching architecture to a group of criminals, but Foshan- China is not an ordinary city. The city’s sidewalks and courtyards are covered with different kinds of mosaic tiles: changing the casual meander through the streets into a spectacular visual experience.

The first pavement mosaic in Foshan was created by a group of professionals. They created a zig-zag mosaic design. The mosaic was so popular that the government had demanded that design in another street, this time for.

What made the street mosaic tiles an excellent activity to delegate to those professionals – namely that building them is extremely hard, boring work – also means that they are hard to continue making today. Although they need a lot of labor to create and are expensive to keep up, the people in Foshan continue to do their best to maintain the talent that makes their city unique. A school to teach craftsmen the traditional pavement techniques has been invented in the hopes of continuing the convention of mosaic-covered streets. AD Alexander mosaic tiles bring the reflection of hard efforts to make the mosaic tile a best option for decorating homes.
