Composite Panels For Building Facades
Aluminum composite panel (ACP) is a flat panel comprising two thin aluminum sheets that are combined with a non-aluminum material placed between the sheets giving it the form of a sandwich. ACPs are used on a large scale for the purpose of external wall cladding and for making facades for the buildings.
Use of ACP is not only bound to the external wall cladding but it is also used for the purpose of making partitions and false ceilings and as an alternative of really heavy substrates. Modern use of aluminum composite panel is sighted in meant famous buildings like Spaceship Earth, VanDusen Botanical Garden, etc. Moderate use of ACP also includes its use as a material for hanging fine arts painting and photography.
APCs are also given different names such as sandwich panel. These are the APCs which range from 0.3mm – 0.5mm in thickness and having a polyethylene material which is around 3mm thick and placed between two aluminum sheets that are why APCs are also referred as sandwich panels.
